[Updated March 2020]

Here’s a prayer that I pray frequently, for all sorts of intentions and for all sorts of consolations.

Saint Joseph takes care of our family, and my wife prays to him to take care of me!

It’s also a good prayer to pray each day for the NINE DAYS from March 11th through March 19th–the days leading up to a great celebration.

You see, MARCH 19 is a very, very special feast day–so special that the Church celebrates it as a SOLEMNITY: The Solemnity of Saint Joseph, husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary!

Go to Mass: you’ll see the priest will wear WHITE.  Quite a change from the violet nearly every other Lenten day.

Here’s the prayer:

O, Saint Joseph,
whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God,
I place in you all my interests and desires.
O, Saint Joseph,
do assist me by your powerful intercession,
and obtain for me from your Divine Son all spiritual blessings,
through Jesus Christ, Our Lord.
So that,
having engaged here below your heavenly power,
I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers.
O, Saint Joseph,
I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms;
I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart.
Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me
and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath.
Saint Joseph, Patron of departing souls,
pray for me.

Pray it with me, pray it with us, during the Novena from March 11th to March 19th to open our hearts in these final days of Lent.

Whenever you have the 30 seconds during the day–morning? lunchtime? evening before bedtime? when you say grace before any meal?–just say this prayer to the man whom God chose to care for His Only Begotten Son and for the Blessed Virgin Mary.

You’ll be glad you did.
