First Communion Season is upon us!
You can start getting nervous in the days leading up to your child’s First Communion.
Have you done enough to prepare your child for this incredibly important day?
Does your child adequately understand WHO they are receiving in the Eucharist?
Will they be prepared to assume the responsibility of preparing themselves this day and every day to worthily receive Communion?
In the midst of these concerns, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed. However, we created a resource that we hope will hopefully ease these fears and refocus you on the true goal of preparing your child for First Communion:
The First Communion Day is the beginning of a lifelong relationship with the Eucharist.
Here is how you can begin cultivating that relationship–a simple, beautiful, and thought-provoking Novena.
This Novena aims at reaching the hearts of children as they slowly pray and ponder the immense importance of their First Communion Day.
Over nine days, the daily prayers include:
- a prayer for the parish priest who will celebrate the First Communion,
- a prayer to Blessed Imelda (the patroness of First Communicants),
- a prayer to the Guardian Angel,
- two Traditional Eucharistic prayers,
- and four others that will help prepare the heart of the First Communicant!
One mom emailed us and said, “I just downloaded the First Communion Noveva-I love it!”
Please–share this Novena with your child. And if you are able, consider selecting the “unlimited printing option and get this for the entire First Communion class!
A quick note if your child will be enrolled in the Brown Scapular
Many parishes enroll children in the Brown Scapular on their First Communion Day. We’ve had several parishes reach out, asking if we have resources! I wanted to re-share this Our Lady of Mount Carmel color-by-number. In addition to the FREE download, you can also learn the story of Simon Stock and the Brown Scapular!
