It’s now post-Christmas visits with families…and interestingly enough, we are about to celebrate the patron saint of in-laws. Coincidence?

On January 4th, we celebrate the feast of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. What many people don’t know is that she is the patron saint of in-laws (specifically, in-law troubles).

It can be tough to bring two families together so St. Elizabeth Ann Seton is a great saint to have in your back pocket. Ask her to help, and she will!

Her story of how she overcame those troubles with love and truth will inspire you. You can listen to her beautiful story HERE.

If your holiday visits were tough this year, here is St. Elizabeth Ann Seton’s favorite prayer. Say this frequently to help you and both sides of your family to overcome troubles.

We created a St. Elizabeth Ann Seton prayer card with this prayer! You can get 5-packs and share them with your mom friends (perhaps they could ALL use a copy this time of year).

Not only can St. Elizabeth Ann Seton inspire you, but she is a wonderful saint to introduce to your children.

While your kids may not have in-law troubles, her story has so much to touch the hearts of children.

She loved horses and dancing as a child before converting to Catholicism after visiting Italy.

She stood up to fierce persecution in the United States for being Catholic (yes, a part of our history that many children don’t know).

She founded the 1st American religious congregation for women (if you have daughters, also consider getting this picture book and this one too).

She founded a strong Catholic school (does your child attend a Catholic school? Get coloring books for the entire class).
