The Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross is coming up on September 14th

This feast is important because it celebrates not one, but two historic events! The feast commemorates the discovery of the Cross of Christ by St. Helena and the dedication of the basilica on Calvary (built by St. Helena’s son, Constantine) in 335 A.D.

Since the seventh century, this feast has been celebrated by Catholics around the world as a day to reflect on the beauty of the Cross on which the Savior of the world died.
