Isn’t that last answer incorrect? It asked in what chapter of the Bible would one find the Corporal works of mercy. The only correct answer listed was Matthew 25. The chapters in Mark and Luke both had parables of the seeds, and John’s was mostly about the death of Lazarus. I was hoping to have my kids take it and also send to other people, but can’t pass this on if it’s incorrect. It is late at night so I may have misread.
Hi Sarah! The Book of Matthew is the only book of the Bible with the list of the corporal works of mercy (Jesus’ description of the Last Judgement). There are so many examples of both the corporal AND spiritual works of mercy throughout all four Gospels, but the only Gospel that has the LIST of the corporal works of mercy is the Gospel of Matthew. Since the Gospel of Matthew is the book of the Bible that Catholics pulled the list of the corporal works of mercy (thought examples of the works of mercy can be found in nearly every book of the Bible), that is the correct answer for the final question!
Hi Clara, Thanks for your reply! The quiz marked my answer of Matthew as incorrect, saying that “It’s not found in that Gospel” or something similar, hence my confusion.
Hmmmm—let me check the quiz answers! The correct answer should be Matthew so let me double-check that the quiz is responding correctly!
