We asked past participants to review Lenten Adventure
When we surveyed the nearly 40,000 Catholic families, schools, and parishes which participated in Holy Heroes Lenten Adventure last year, 5 of every 6 families who responded told us that Lenten Adventure helped their family have a more fruitful Lent for a more joyful Easter Season! We’ve provided below some quotes from moms telling us what was most helpful for their families–and why.
Holy Heroes Lenten Adventure is a FREE program to help families have their best Lent ever! With daily emails filled with videos, audio prayers and stories, coloring pages, activity pages, and more, this program will help your kids gain a deeper understanding of their Catholic faith while preparing their hearts and minds for Easter morning.
And–it is so easy on Mom and Dad:
Nothing for you to remember to do except open our daily emails, then everything is right there at your clickable fingertips. Your kids get each day’s “stuff” right there on a single webpage where they can scroll and click and print–no jumping around to any other page or through a library of unrelated materials. They are guided day-by-day. And you can always go back to previous days for review.
Here’s what you get for FREE (scroll down for a video revealing “what’s new”):
- Daily Lenten Activities
Daily emails link to Lenten lessons which are tied to Sunday readings, Feast days, and step-by-step explanations of the Stations of the Cross, all the corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy, and more (so Lent is a learning experience to grow in knowing, loving, and serving God and neighbor) - Fun video & audio selections
View and listen online to specially selected Holy Heroes media–including learning prayers and Catholic Lenten practices, as well as several serialized Glory Stories (often the most favorite part!) - Printable activity downloads
Enjoy coloring pages, word searches, mazes, crossword puzzles, etc., plus our Sunday Mass Quiz, of course! - Fun online quizzes to test what you’ve learned as the days of Lent go by!
- Preparation for every Sunday Mass, Solemnity, and the Paschal Triduum
- Also this year: Step-by-step through the Holy Mass. The Holy Heroes Adventure Guides will be teaching your kids what we and our priests do in the Mass, when, and why!
Here is what other Moms have said:
First, that kids love learning from other kids
“The children appreciate hearing from other children!“
Lenten Adventure veteran
“One theme that we hear over and over at Holy Heroes is that kids enjoy learning from other kids! And all the Holy Heroes Adventure Guides are Catholic kids like yours (except the Holy Heroes kids have access to theological review of everything they say…). Short videos of kids sharing their love for the Catholic faith has more impact on kids than hearing the same things from adults. You guys have really helped bring the Liturgical Year alive for our children. Your adventures are so fun, educational, and organically Catholic. Great job and keep on spreading the Good News!“
Colleen
Second, that Lenten Adventure has become a Family Tradition over the years
“My kids looked forward to every video and we did the coloring activities often together as a family and could incorporate our 2-year-old in the coloring as well…it created great family topics of discussion!”
A Lenten Adventure Family
“Whether you complete the daily emails as a family or the kids do it on their own (that’s right–this program is easy enough for kids to do on their own!), Lenten Adventure provides lots of topics for conversations. Ask your kids to share their newfound knowledge about Lenten traditions, the Rosary, or the Mass! Spend a dinner choosing a Lenten penance that can be completed as family. I just wanted to thank you for your Lenten Adventure. What a wonderful way to celebrate this season with my children. We love the videos, the prayers, the worksheets. Thank you.“
Wendy
Families who participate in Lenten Adventure come back year after year. We found that 52.6% of 2019 families sign up for Lenten Adventure each year as a “refresher course” as they prepare for Easter. We’ve been offering this a looong time: 2021 is our 13th annual Lenten Adventure! We wouldn’t want to go through Lent without it!

Parents Learn More than the Kids
“Holy Heroes has been a blessing, especially for me, but also for my wife and kids.”
Dad who learned more than his kids
“We LOVE the videos…I (the adult here!) have learned a lot about our Faith that I did not know prior to this program!“
Mom of several children
