New: Eucharistic Miracle in Honduras

In 2022, a Eucharistic miracle occurred in the rural town of El Espinal, Honduras.

Due to the rural nature of the town, there was no permanent priest present on June 9, 2022. Eucharistic minister José Machado was leading a prayer and communion service with about 15 families present. Upon opening the tabernacle, he observed blood stains on the corporal which was wrapped around the ciborium that contained the Blessed Sacrament. Shocked, he immediately alerted the priests who had last visited the parish.

After months of investigation, an examination by a forensic expert and a toxicology expert, it has been revealed that the stains are indeed human blood (blood type is AB+–the same blood type found on the Shroud of Turin an the Miracle of Lanciano).

Bishop Walter Guillen Soto stated:

“I think that this extraordinary, visible, tangible, perceptible, verifiable sign of this manifestation of the blood of the Lord in an obscure community in the midst of the most extreme rurality of our agricultural environment says a lot at this time.”
