As we are hard at work buying and ordering hurricane relief supplies, I have been thinking a lot about Guardian Angels and the role they can play during times of natural disaster.

Video seems to be the quickest way to communicate so I jumped on our Instagram to share some thoughts along with an update on how the hurricane relief efforts are going.

I specifically want to encourage more families to learn the Send your Angel to Mass prayer. Along with other emergency supplies, this prayer is one that needs to be memorized for times of natural disaster. We are reprinting cards right now as we have seen a FLOOD of orders (often in bulk for entire parishes and schools) since this weekend.

One more thing–we received an email this morning from someone living through the effects of the hurricane:

Hello! I am a customer and a fan of your family and what you all are doing to help people like me teach our faith to young children. I didn’t realize you are in North Carolina.

I just received this email and wanted to thank you for all you are doing. The community I live in is one that has been impacted greatly by the storm here in western NC and there is such devastation in some parts of our county (i.e. Lake Lure, Chimney Rock). It has been generous people like you and your family and what you are doing to rally others to offer their support in some way who give us hope. 

I work at our local pregnancy center and we have received so many baby supplies from the plane drop-offs since yesterday, enabling us to help over 75 families with small children in our community the last 2 days. We will continue to give out free supplies, even going out into the community to those who cannot get to the center. 

So, just know that what you are doing is making a difference; it is helping people in need, and we are so very grateful.

Friends, the need is so great but your donations coming through are helping us put supplies into the hands of REAL people whose lives have been forever impacted by this hurricane.
