Have you heard the 3rd Sunday in Advent called “Bambinelli Sunday”?
The tradition was started by Pope John Paul II on the 3rd Sunday in Advent. Children would gather in St. Peter’s Square with the Baby Jesus figurines (bambinellis) from their Nativity sets for the Pope to bless. Since then, many parishes around the world now encourage the faithful to bring the Baby Jesus figurines for a special blessing on the 3rd Sunday in Advent!
Here is a video of Pope Benedict XVI continuing this tradition during his Papacy:
IDEA: print the download below and bring it with your Baby Jesus figurine to Mass on Sunday! Ask your parish priest if he can pray this blessing (or one of his own!) over your Baby Jesus!
Another beautiful Nativity tradition you can start this Advent:
Our Nativity Manger Scene Download is a fun way children can color and build their own Nativity scene in the final days leading up to Christmas!
Each page in the coloring pack has the date that your children should color it and set it up, to recreate the story of the Nativity!
This 17-page download is the perfect way to keep kids focused on the season of expectation during this last week of Advent!
