After over a decade of offering Advent Adventure online free-of-charge, we have taken the time in preparing the 2019 program to step back and review all the feedback we’ve received over the years.
We have gone through years of emails and reviews from our most loyal “Adventur-ers,” from survey responses and to unsolicited emails and even the letters from teachers in classrooms and from children (they are the most fun to look through because a lot also sent us drawings!).
Don’t worry–the framework of Advent Adventure WILL NOT CHANGE. This tried and true flagship program will still be delivered directly to your inbox for every day throughout Advent! And yes: it is still totally free!
However, we have made three improvements below:
1. Holy Heroes Jesse Tree Videos–they’re BAAACK!
You asked for them and we are delivering! Once again, the Holy Heroes Jesse Tree Videos will be included in the daily Advent Adventure emails! We tested out Advent Adventure last year without most of the Jesse Tree videos just to try to minimize confusion due to all the stuff on the webpage.
We didn’t think they were that important to the families participating.
WOW–we were wrong! We were surprised when so many people emailed us asking for them. We had no idea people enjoyed them so much!
So once again, you’ll receive your daily Jesse Tree videos throughout Advent. You can also use the button below to download FREE Jesse Tree ornaments to go along with the videos–both color-them-yourself and full-color versions are in the download! You can also get a printed Jesse Tree activity book HERE. The Holy Heroes Mom shares more about the Jesse Tree and how you can integrate it into your Advent celebrations HERE.
2. Advent Adventure–Early Access
A second request from some Advent Adventure reviewers is that they would love access to the ENTIRE program well in advance of the beginning of Advent. If you are a catechist, teacher, or busy mom–this new feature is for YOU.
We have created Advent Adventure Early Access for the 2019 season. With this program, you can receive ONE email the week of November 18th with the ENTIRE Advent Adventure program. This means no scrambling to find the daily email, no printing off activities the night before, and no last-minute classroom planning for the daily Advent lesson. In addition, with the Advent Adventure Early Access program, you will receive UNLIMITED printing rights. You can go ahead and print off all your activities BEFORE the start of Advent and send the activities home with the kids during the week (if you’re a catechist) or during Christmas break (if you’re a teacher).
3. Streamlining the presentation (less clicking, saves time)
After many years of doing this, things have gotten a bit crowded over on each Advent Adventure webpage. Every year there is more great content to add to the program, but it can sometimes get a bit overwhelming. This year, we have streamlined the program to make it more user-friendly. This means:
- We have combined what were a chain of separate videos into a single Advent Adventure daily video. Now all the Advent Adventure Guide videos, the daily mystery of the Rosary, and the daily Angelus can be accessed with ONE convenient “play.” Some items are still separate. For example, the Jesse Tree videos are separate videos, as are the Sunday Gospel videos.
- On every daily page, you will receive a bullet point list of THREE things included for the day. This will be a straightforward explanation of what your children can expect to learn from the daily page.
- You will receive 7 emails a week. Originally when we started Advent Adventure, we didn’t even know how to schedule emails!! Because we didn’t want to work on Sundays, we included all the Sunday content in the Saturday email. This led to some confusion for users and rather than overload you on Saturdays, we want to give you smaller chunks spread out through 2 emails on the weekends. And we still don’t have to work on Sunday, because we now know how to schedule emails in advance.
We are excited to kick off Advent Adventure in just a few weeks! Sign-up now to be included in this year’s adventure at AdventAdventure.com!
