How To Find Spiritual Companionship this Lent

Especially if you are the mother of young children, it can feel isolating striving to fulfill your Lenten commitments without encouragement from other adults (toddlers aren’t usually disposed to encourage self-sacrifice of any kind!).

Here is an idea I will be using this year to help find spiritual companionship this Lent that Katie Warner shared with me.

Over the last few years, Katie has offered each day of Lenten prayer and sacrifice for a specific person. By praying for a specific person each day, Katie told me, “this Lenten practice allows me to become a sort of spiritual companion to another person on their own Lenten journey, particularly by letting them know that I am interceding for him or her on that day.”

I thought this was such a lovely idea that we created our Lenten Daily Prayer & Sacrifice Cards for Lent 2024.

Here is how you use these beautiful cards:

Pull out your calendar and write the name of a specific person for each day in Lent (our Lent & Easter calendar is FREE with every order and PERFECT for this).

Then mail or give out the Lenten Daily Prayer & Sacrifice Cards to each person you are praying for, letting them know that your daily prayers and penances are being offered for their intentions.
