This is the week of plenary indulgences (see earlier blog on the Year of St. Joseph: Plenary Indulgences) and we are back today with another one!

The Vatican announced on January 13th, in response to a request from Cardinal Gregory, Archbishop of Washington, the following plenary indulgence:

“The Apostolic Penitentiary kindly grants, from the heavenly treasure of the Church, a plenary Indulgence, to be obtained under the usual conditions by the Christian faithful…if they take part in the sacred celebrations during the course of the…March for Life.”

Read the complete decree

The indulgence requires the “usual conditions” (sacramental Confession 20 days before or after; Holy Communion, and prayer for the intention of the Supreme Pontiff) and the act of taking part in the virtual March for Life this year. It includes all faithful Catholics who are aged, sick, or unable to leave home due to grave reasons but choose to participate virtually in the National Prayer Vigil for Life at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on Thursday, Jan. 28, and those who will participate virtually or in-person in the March for Life to be celebrated on Friday, Jan. 29.

This is a beautiful way you can engage your children in the pro-life movement by participating in the National Prayer Vigil for Life (tonight 8-11 pm eastern time) and the March for Life (find more suggestions for how to engage your children in the pro-life movement here).

If you are looking for more (free!) ways to raise a pro-life generation, the Holy Heroes Spiritual Adoption Prayer Adventure is an easy, gentle way to teach your young children about the sanctity of life.

It’s a FREE, fun, and engaging way for kids and families to learn about the miracle and sanctity of life!

It’s easy on parents, joyful for children – and the Adventure Guides had a blast putting it all together! Sign up today!
