Do you travel for business? Take family vacations? Have a child living in a dorm? Do you ever spend a night away from home?

Here is what happened to my son and me in a hotel in Charleston.

Picture a typical hotel room: two beds, a large TV mounted on the wall, a chair in the corner, and a short hallway leading to the bathroom and the main door.

Before turning in for the night, we prayed the blessings together and sprinkled the room with holy water.

Almost immediately, the light above the chair in the corner began to dim. It faded completely out… then came back on.

A few seconds later, the light near the TV did exactly the same thing—dimmed, went out, then came back on.

Then the light by the hallway door repeated the pattern.

My son looked at me and said, “Did you see that?”

Before I could answer, something else happened. The room suddenly became very hot. Not warm—hot.

I said, “Maybe the thermostat needs adjusting,” and got up to check it. But the thermostat was set normally and operating correctly. Then, just as suddenly as the heat had appeared, the temperature dropped back to normal.

My son looked at me and said, “It seems like SOMETHING left the room from that chair—and it was not at all happy to do so.”

That experience reminded me of something important:

That’s why these prayers were developed by a team of exorcists in the Philippines and approved for use by ordinary laypeople to bless their bedrooms and pray for protection when away from home.

We’ve made these prayer cards available because I want every member of my family to have one whenever they’re away from home. (with 5 adult children in the military, they travel often).

If you travel, if your children live in dorms, or if you ever spend a night somewhere other than your own bedroom,
I encourage you to get this prayer card
(and get a few extras to have on hand).

Have kids headed to college?

The book we give each of our children when they leave for college.

Each and every day, we are faced with scores of choices that, in subtle yet discernible ways, can either enrich or impoverish our personal character. The choices we make, and the manner in which we make them, illuminate the paths our lives will take.

By cultivating the habits of virtue, we will strengthen not only ourselves but, more importantly, our families and our world. This book shows how to overcome the most formidable obstacle to an ethical life: ourselves.
