Who I’m praying for this Lent

This Lent, I am joining a growing group of Catholics to offer each day of penance for an individual person.

If you have been seeing this idea but are unsure who to pray for, here are some of the people I will be praying for this Lent:

• a family member who is beginning chemo next week,
• a newly postpartum mom who is solo with toddlers and a new baby,
• a friend with a high-risk pregnancy,
• a friend preparing for her first birth,
• a sibling who is having a tough semester,
• a friend who has recently suffered a miscarriage,
• a priest (they always need prayers),
• a family member who just lost a loved one,
• a friend who is starting a new job,
• and another 31 people who need prayers and sacrifices this Lent.

There are always so many people in need of not just prayers, but in need of the human connection–they need you to TELL them you are praying for them.
